Privacy Policy
Drone Warz is a browser game with no accounts and no sign-up. It asks for your camera and motion sensors to work, and it shows ads to cover hosting. This page explains exactly what that means for your data.
Last updated 18 August 2026
1. The short version
- Your camera feed never leaves your device. It is not recorded, uploaded, or sent anywhere.
- There are no accounts. We never ask for your name, email address, or phone number.
- Your settings and scores live in your own browser, not on a server.
- Advertising is the one third party involved. You control whether it can use your data, and you can change that decision at any time.
2. Your camera
Drone Warz uses your device camera as the gun sight — the live view behind the crosshair is your real surroundings. Your browser will ask your permission before the camera turns on, and the game cannot start it without that permission.
The camera feed is used in two ways, both entirely on your own device:
- Displayed to you as the backdrop behind the game's targets.
- Analysed for movement — the game compares small sample areas between frames to work out how you are panning the device, which helps steady the aim when motion sensors are unavailable.
Nothing from the camera is written to storage, recorded, transmitted, or shared. No frames, no stills, no derived images. When you leave the game screen, the camera stream is stopped and released.
If you would rather not use the camera at all, the game has a Backdrop: Black option that plays over an artificial terrain instead. Camera permission is never requested in that mode.
3. Motion sensors
On a phone or tablet the game reads your device's orientation and motion sensors so that physically turning your body aims the sight. On iOS you will see a separate "Motion & Orientation Access" prompt; on other devices the readings may be available without a prompt.
These readings are used only to calculate where you are pointing, in the moment, on your device. They are not stored and not transmitted. On a desktop computer no motion sensors are used at all — the mouse and keyboard drive the sight.
4. What is stored on your device
The game uses your browser's local storage to remember your preferences between sessions. This data sits on your device, is readable only by this site, and is never sent to us.
| Item | What it holds | Why |
|---|---|---|
ar_dronestrike_prefs |
Your game options: difficulty, magazine size, airspace arc, fire mode, recoil, range rings, drone loadout, sound choices, callsign, team names | So the game opens the way you left it instead of resetting every time |
| Score records | Your local high score table — score, accuracy and streak per round | To show your personal best. This is not a global leaderboard and is not shared with anyone |
dw_consent |
Whether you accepted or rejected personalised advertising, and when | So you are not asked the same question on every visit, and so your choice is honoured |
dw_pid |
A random identifier such as p8fj2k1a, generated in your browser |
Lets a multiplayer game tell players apart. It is not linked to you as a person and contains nothing about you |
You can erase all of it at any time by clearing site data for this site in your browser settings. Doing so resets your options and clears your local scores.
5. Multiplayer games
Solo play involves no server at all. If you host or join a multiplayer game, a small amount of information is shared so that everyone's screens agree with each other:
- the callsign you typed (a short label of your choosing — please do not use your full legal name if you would rather not share it)
- the side or team you picked
- your score and which targets you hit during the round
- the random player identifier described above
This is held in a small file on the server for the duration of the match and is deleted automatically once the game is older than one hour. It is not backed up, not analysed, and not used for any purpose beyond running that match. There is no chat feature, so no messages are ever transmitted or stored.
Anyone else in the same game can see the callsign you choose. Pick something you are comfortable with others reading.
6. Advertising and cookies
This site carries advertising from Google AdSense so that it can stay free to play. Google is a third party and sets its own cookies or similar identifiers when it serves an ad.
The first time you visit, the game asks whether advertising may use your data. Until you answer, all advertising and measurement storage is switched off. That is enforced through Google Consent Mode, which starts every signal in a denied state and only changes it if you accept.
- If you accept, Google may use cookies and device data to select more relevant ads and to measure performance.
- If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalised using your data.
You can change your mind whenever you like using the Privacy & Ad Settings button on the game's start screen. Google explains its own handling of advertising data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
We do not run our own analytics, we do not build advertising profiles ourselves, and we do not sell data to anyone.
7. Children
Drone Warz is a target-shooting arcade game aimed at a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from them. Because there are no accounts, we hold no age data of any kind. Parents who would prefer their child play without the camera can use the Black backdrop option, and can decline personalised advertising at the consent prompt.
8. Your choices and rights
- Refuse the camera or motion sensors — the browser permission prompt is yours to decline, and the game reports what is unavailable rather than failing silently. A system check on the start screen shows the status of each.
- Withdraw camera permission later through your browser's site settings.
- Change your advertising choice at any time from the start screen.
- Delete everything by clearing site data in your browser.
Because we hold no account and no contact details, there is nothing personally identifying for us to look up, export, or delete on request — the data described above either lives on your own device or is a short-lived match record that erases itself. If you believe a match record contains something that identifies you, contact us and we will remove it.
9. Changes to this policy
If the game changes in a way that affects your data, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it. Material changes will also be noted on the start screen.
10. Contact
